Teletubbies x Cakeworthy: From Shoot to Launch (and everything in between)

February is almost over, but we thought we'd close it out with a bang⌠or rather, an explosion of Tubby Custard! (If that doesnât give away our newest collection launch, I donât know what will.)
For those who donât know, Teletubbies is a British childrenâs television series that first aired in 1997. It follows four colorful charactersâTinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Poâwho live in a fun, grassy land called Teletubbyland. Each Teletubby has a unique antenna on their head and a television screen on their belly that plays educational videos.
The Teletubbies x Cakeworthy collection was an absolute blast to work on! From start to finish, itâs been nothing but fun. When we first started working on this collection, we knew it had to be bright, colorful, and bring immediate joy to our customers. We also knew the photoshoot had to reflect that energy. So, weâre here to take you behind the scenes of our Tubbytastic collectionâfrom shoot to launch.
Teletubbies Photoshoot
Photoshoots always start in the planning stage. Our first thought is always, "Whatâs the vision?" For Teletubbies, it was obviousâthis needed to be fun, this needed to be bright⌠this needed to be shot in Teletubbyland.
Since we didnât have the budget to fly to the UK, we decided, "You know what? We have Teletubbyland at home," and got to work designing our very own mini set.
Now, I donât know about you, but finding the perfect grass turf wasnât easy! But it was a necessity. An absolute must-have. We had a vision, and gosh darn it, we were going to make it happen.
So, we set off in search of the most Teletubbyland-ish fake grass we could find and after literally running all over our city, the Teletubbies Baby Sun shined down upon us, and we finally found the perfect fit. Thanks unnamed hardware store!Â
After our excursion, it was time to get to work. We had to transform this astroturf into a Tubbytastic dreamâand with a few fake flowers, we did just that.
Not to toot our own horn, but⌠TOOT TOOT! Did we hit this outta the park or what?! With the little flowers, the blue backdrop⌠yâall see that little bump in the grass? Itâs a MASTERPIECE.
The second thing we need to decide for a shoot is the models. For Teletubbies, we needed models who would bring fun and free vibes. We wanted big smiles, big poses, and carefree attitudes. We hit the nail on the head with JC, Marijana, Dee, and Devâphenomenal! 100/10.
It always makes our job so much easier and more enjoyable when the models are as amazing as these four. Not only do they have top-notch smiles and poses, but theyâre also always game for anything. I mean⌠look at these photos; they speak for themselves!
Teletubbies Party
Okay, who doesn't LOVE a party? And what makes a party 10x better? THE TELETUBBIES! This party was a long time coming. When we found out we were doing a Teletubbies collab we knew we had to throw a party!Â
Not only did we have a live DJ (perfect for a dance party) and a themed 360 Video Boothâlook at that photo! Can you believe it?! Po at our partyâtalk about iconic!
We wanted to take a moment to send a massive shout-out to anyone who stopped by. We know there was a huge snowstorm, so your support means the world to us. Seeing all of your smiling faces seriously lit up such a grey day. It reminded us that even in the midst of winter, the joy of our community can shine through! Thank you for celebrating with us and making it unforgettable!Â

That brings us to the official launch of Teletubbies x Cakeworthy... I could cry. This collection has been such a joy for all of us to work on and a serious blast from the past. We put our absolute all into each piece, and weâre so excited to unveil this collaboration to you all. This collection includes 4 new flannels, one for each of the Teletubbies, our Teletubbies T-Shirt, Teletubbies T-Shirt Dress, Teletubbies Tote Bag, Teletubbies AOP, and our Teletubbies Color Block Crewneck! Each item is bursting with color and is a must-have for any Teletubbies fan.Â
